ASHIE 2005 results are based on an exposure of 92 kton yr during the complete Super-Kamiokande I running period. The analyzed data sample consists of fully-contained single-ring ${{\mathit e}}$-like events with 0.1 GeV/c $<{{\mathit p}_{{e}}}$ and ${{\mathit \mu}}$-like events 0.2 GeV/c $<{{\mathit p}_{{\mu}}}$, both having a visible energy $<$ 1.33 GeV. These criteria match the definition used by FUKUDA 1994 .
ASHIE 2005 results are based on an exposure of 92 kton yr during the complete Super-Kamiokande I running period. The analyzed data sample consists of fully-contained single-ring events with visible energy $>$ 1.33 GeV and partially-contained events. All partially-contained events are classified as ${{\mathit \mu}}$-like.
SANCHEZ 2003 result is based on an exposure of 5.9 kton yr, and updates ALLISON 1999 result. The analyzed data sample consists of fully-contained ${{\mathit e}}$-flavor and ${{\mathit \mu}}$-flavor events having lepton momentum $>$ 0.3 GeV/c.
FUKUDA 1996B studied neutron background in the atmospheric neutrino sample observed in the Kamiokande detector. No evidence for the background contamination was found.
DAUM 1995 results are based on an exposure of $2.0$ kton$~$yr which includes the data used by BERGER 1990B. This ratio is for the contained and semicontained events. DAUM 1995 also report $\mathit R({{\mathit \mu}}/{{\mathit e}}$) = $0.99$ $\pm0.13$ $\pm0.08$ for the total neutrino induced data sample which includes upward going stopping muons and horizontal muons in addition to the contained and semicontained events.
  FUKUDA 1994 result is based on an exposure of $7.7$ kton$~$yr and updates the HIRATA 1992 result. The analyzed data sample consists of fully-contained ${{\mathit e}}$-like events with $0.1<{{\mathit p}_{{e}}}<1.33$ GeV/$\mathit c$ and fully-contained ${{\mathit \mu}}$-like events with $0.2<{{\mathit p}_{{\mu}}}<1.5$ GeV/$\mathit c$.
FUKUDA 1994 analyzed the data sample consisting of fully contained events with visible energy $>1.33$ GeV and partially contained ${{\mathit \mu}}$-like events.
BECKER-SZENDY 1992B reports the fraction of nonshowering events (mostly muons from atmospheric neutrinos) as $0.36$ $\pm0.02$ $\pm0.02$, as compared with expected fraction $0.51$ $\pm0.01$ $\pm0.05$. After cutting the energy range to the Kamiokande limits, BEIER 1992 finds $\mathit R({{\mathit \mu}}/{{\mathit e}}$) very close to the Kamiokande value.
